Koffret

Only the icons you use, in the menu bar.

Push the icons you never touch behind a divider and bring them back only when you need them. Their menus open in place, still hidden.

Every one of these lives in the menu bar. You probably do not need all of them out at once.

The more icons you collect, the further away the ones you use get

Menu bar apps put themselves there and stay. Past a certain number the left of the clock turns into a row of small shapes, and on a Mac with a notch the overflow simply disappears.

Your eye stops every time

With twenty shapes of the same size, finding one costs you a beat.

The overflow vanishes

Anything past the notch stays out of reach. The icon you want never appears.

Every task needs a different set

What you want to watch while streaming is not what you want while writing.

They come back as they really look

Percentages, badges and graphs come through unchanged. Nothing is replaced with a lookalike.

Choose how they come back

Rest the pointer on the menu bar, scroll over it, or click the notch. Turn on only the gestures you want, and set how long revealed icons stay out.

Let conditions bring them out

When a hidden icon changes, when the battery drops below a level you set, while on battery power, during a time range, while a given app is in front, or while a script you wrote exits with 0. The icon stays out as long as the condition holds and slips back when it stops.

Common questions

Do I need a card to try it?

No. Download it and every feature works for fourteen days.

Why does it need Screen Recording permission?

To show hidden icons exactly as they look, Koffret reads the drawing of the menu bar strip. It reads that strip only. Nothing is stored and nothing leaves your Mac.

Can I run it alongside Bartender or Ice?

Running them together makes both fight over the same item positions and neither behaves. Keep only the one you want.

Is there a subscription?

No. It is a one-time purchase of $14.99, and it covers the major version you bought with no time limit.

Can I get a refund?

Because this is a digital product, we do not, as a rule, refund payments already made. The fourteen-day trial is there so you can decide first. If the app does not work because of a fault on our side, we will deal with it individually.
